The committee for protection of
innovations “the Assembly for Professionals and technicians in
Lebanon” announced the first competition in kind in Lebanon and the Arab
World. The Assembly for Professionals and technicians in Lebanon announced a
new partnership with Microsoft's © cooperation.
The Lebanon Web Awards is an
award-giving body will annually honor the best Lebanese-created Web sites and
the individuals and teams behind them.
 Netways
brought home a silver award for BBAC, a site submitted for the competition.

Key Lebanese businessmen gathered on Tuesday at the Press
Federation for the announcement of the 4th Lebanese International Business
Council World Conference, Planet Lebanon 2004, to be held July 20-22.
“Planet Lebanon 2004 aims at
rebuilding bridges and strengthening ties between businessmen of Lebanese
origin worldwide,” said Nassib Fawaz, president of the Lebanese
International Business Council (LIBC). Organized by LIBC and International
Fairs and Promotions (IFP), the main objective of the conference is to
consolidate ties between Lebanese businessmen around the world.
“Planet Lebanon will gather
well-known businessmen, academics and practitioners from countries such as
Brazil, UAE, Saudi Arabia, to name but a few, to discuss and carry out joint
ventures in various sectors including the financial, industrial and technical
ones,” said Albert Aoun, president of IFP.
Planet Lebanon will address five
major themes, finance and banking, industry and trade, IT and communications,
ethics in business and government as well as expatriate responsibility toward
Lebanon. An exhibition will be simultaneously held with the conference to give
firms the opportunity to display their products and services.
“On the basis of the previous
conference held in Brazil in 2003 … some 1,500 businessmen are expected to
attend Planet Lebanon giving them the chance to explore crucial issues related
to the economic growth of the country,” Fawaz said.
